Güell
Eusebi Güell entrusted Gaudi the plan to create an estate for well-off
families on a property known as "Bare Mountain". It had views of the
sea and the plain of Barcelona.
Two buildings at the entrance of the park.
The steps start from the entrace square, framed by two convex walls with
merlons, with a shelter beside a conical column on the right
hand side. It is a double flight of steps divided into sections that
ascend to the Hypostyle Room or Columns Room.
Guell died in 1922 and the property was offered to the Barcelona City
Council who decided to open it as a park 4 years later.
Sculptured figures clad with tile-shard mosaic as shown on this dragon or

The Gaudi House Museum
Gaudí’s neighbors during his stay at Park Güell were the Güell and Trias
families. The lawyer Martí Trias i Domènech occupied the only
other house built in the Park, Casa Trias.
